Description: 1950 envelope franked with Indian stamps from Suez, Egypt to Bloomfield, CT recovered from TWA crash of the "Star of Maryland" in the desert near Cairo. Repaired at left and bottom with two horizontal pairs of 8th design Egyptian seals, all tied by Aeroport Farouk datestamps of September 6th. French "BUREAU DE POSTES / AEROPORT FAROUK / Le retard et l'etat de l'objet / sont du a l'accident survenu a / l'avion le 31-8-50." ("POST OFFICE AIRPORT FAROUK The delay and the state of the object are caused by an airplane accident which occurred on 31 August, 1950") accident label affixed on reverse.
