The islands of Saint Kitts and Nevis are located in the Caribbean Sea approximately 250 miles east of Puerto Rico. Independence from Britain came in 1983. Two different official seals are known.

Description: Local cover sent in 2001 from Basseterre, St. Kitts to Dieppe Bay "RECEIVED IN DAMAGED CONDITION" and repaired with red "Royal Mail" seal. A rather unusual "RECEIVED IN TAPE CONDITION" handstamp was also applied on the reverse.
