Description: Malayan official seal used to repair 1954 cover from Perth, Western Australia to Manchester, England damaged enroute in the March 13th crash of a B.O.A.C. (British Overseas Airways Corporation) aircraft at Singapore. The red "SALVAGED MAIL / AIRCRAFT CRASH / SINGAPORE 13.3.1954" auxiliary marking is the most commonly seen handstamp on mails recovered from this wreck.
A similar seal, without the period after "MALAYA" and no control number at left, is also known.
