Description: Five typographed 1888 issue seals used to repair top, right, and bottom of severely damaged cover from Philadelphia, PA to New York City. Black circular "RECEIVED IN BAD ORDER AT PHIL'A P.O." applied at lower left, right, and reverse. Two smaller "RECEIVED / IN / BAD ORDER" markings struck on back. Outer frameline of seal at top and left is thick and heavy.

Description: 1893 cover with two issue of 1889 seals from Tiltonsville, OH "RECEIVED AT NEW YORK P.O. / (REG. DIV.) IN BAD CONDITION" with scarce pink "REQUEST EXAMINATION ON / DELIVERY. OBTAIN ENVELOPE / IF IRREGULARITY IS REPORTED / (N.Y. - Reg. Div.)" label affixed on front. Outer frameline of seal at top and left is thick and heavy.
